Alber Elba leaving Lanvin

Image
It seems Lanvin's longtime designer (after 14 years at the helm), Alber Elba, will be leaving the fashion house. Elba is said to have commented about the pace of fashion (nowadays), and the numerous hats a designer is now required to wear. Some media publications indicate Elba was "pushed out ". While others site "f ashion's slippery slope ." All we can say is, welcome to the club Mr. Elba. So many ordinary people are doing more than one job! Still Can't Believe Ralph Lauren Is Stepping Down

ICYMI: We've been sitting on this for a month! Ralph Lauren leaving his brand is the end of an era for many of us. Personally, from an early age, Lauren and Calvin Klein had always been my goto designers. Classic and timeless had/has always been my style. Who knows where Lauren's brand will go in the future, (Hopefully to a place that doesn't make every leather or suede pant a legging!) as it remains to be seen where Stefan Larsson , Old Navy's chief executive, will take the brand. Perhaps it was time. We will miss that man who created the brand that personified the American-look.  . Raf Simmons To Leave Christian Dior

Raf Simmons' departure from Christian Dior seems to have surprised many in the fashion world.  Apparently no one saw this coming as Simmons, who took over in 2012, has overseen a rise in sales of 60%. Project Runway's Tim Gunn Unloads on Designer

Image
We watched   Project Runway Season 14  (the last 1/2 hour) last night and thought there seemed to be a little bit of an edge to Tim Gunn . Well now we know. Swapnil Shinde , one of this season's (we thought promising) designers, finally got the ear full he needed from Gun. It's been obvious for weeks that Shinde has been uninspired and more interested in his cigarette breaks! Too bad. TV Guide has been sold, yet again |

Image
We all remember the TV Guide and its famous puzzle, (the part we loved the most). Well, it looks like  TV Guide has been sold, yet again |   We haven't picked up a copy in years, but apparently it has a circulation of 1.8 million.

Steve Kornacki's role at MSNBC Expanded

Image
MSNBC has made another change , in its never-ending quest to get out of 3rd in the ratings behind Fox and CNN, has promoted Steve Kornacki from weekend host of "Up with Steve Kornacki" to Monday host of "MTP Daily", fill-in anchor and political reporter. We looked forward to Kornacki's eyeopener (especially the "Up Against the Clock" segment) weekend show. However, Kornacki is an excellent reporter and we wish him well. Reports are Alex Wagner will take over Kornacki's time slot. MSNBC in Talks with Keith Olbermann, Really?

Image
Media outlets are reporting that MSNBC is working to bring back Keith Olbermann , previously the host of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann". We're not sure what to make of this (however we're not surprised). Olbermann was controversial and prone to arguments with network executives, but his show was a must-see and generated the networks' highest ratings. So it's no wonder NBC News President Andy Lack is set to meet with Olbermann, and if Olbermann returns to MSNBC it would be a great coup leading into the 2016 Presidential election.   However bringing Olbermann back, after his exit seemingly ended so bitterly, might signal desperation or at least hand-ringing among the network's executives. MSNBC has been unable to get out of third in the ratings, behind FOX and CNN, and is in the midst of changing  its lineup (seemingly from top to bottom). Word is Olbermann would be replacing Chris Hayes, who we always thought over-talked his guests to the point of bei...

Can Tom Ford Bring Disco Back?

Fashion Can an arbiter of fashion bring back disco dancing? Maybe.  Tom Ford decided to forego the runway in favor of a video, and not just any video. Ford's spring 2016 RTW was filmed disco-style (think Studio 54) and featured Lady Gaga covering Chic's  "I Want Your Love". We love it! Fall's Hot Color - Burgundy

Image
Fashion Always a fan of the rich color Burgundy, although this season some of us have opted for Oxblood, we often wondered by the color isn't a fashion staple like navy.  Nothing says Fall and the approach of Winter like burgundy.
