Bill Cunningham on Chanel's Plexi Handbag

Image
Fashion Accessories We wondered if anymore would purchase the Chanel No . 5 plexiglass handbag, which we deemed impractical. Apparently, according to Bill Cunningham's  " The Winning Number Is  " ( video below ) they did! In fact, they were sold out long ago. We must admit, we do like the cell phone cover!

Is Resolution Becoming A Revolving Door?

Image
The legendary veteran agent and former Chairman of International Creative Management (ICM) Jeff Berg launched Resolution , a talent and literary agency, in January 2013. Now it seems in little more than a year Resolution has become known for its revolving door (with literary and talent agents leaving) and not so much for revolutionizing the agency business. The latest exit at Resolution is Dennis Kim , veteran TV literary agent, who was wooed away from a boutique agency back in July of 2013. Kim, who is rumored to have left to become a talent manager, joined  Resolution to head up the TV Lit department and give the new agency a "toehold in the lucrative TV lit business". It seems a foothold is what was needed. It's been an unfortunate start for Berg considering he (almost singlehandedly) made ICM a mighty agency for three decades. It's also become almost impossible to get agents of note to come to Resolution with some much uncertainty and high profile exits...

American Apparel Founder Finally Fired

Image
Retail It seems American Apparel's CEO Dov Charney's astonishingly bad behavior was tolerated for way too long. Charney, who is threatening legal action and demanding to be reinstated it would seem, has no shame. With numerous lawsuits, allegations, investigations and reportedly a secret website  (now locked down) that was discovered by employee a few years ago. The question is, why has it taken so long to remove Charney? It would seem the company couldn't afford the insurance anymore! Nikki Finke Is Back Online

Image
Finally the legendary and often terrifying Nikki Finke , the Hollywood reporter, is back online with her new website and doing what she does best. In Finke's first post , "Why I Started NikkiFinke.com", she explains why she's driven to continue writing about Hollywood, and, of course, those pesky inferior trade competitors.  Oh, and, Jay Penske also got a mention when Finke returned for her first week posting online.  All we can say is, welcome back. 'The Tonight Show' Still The Dominate Late-Night Choice

Image
"The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon" , according to Nielsen's ratings has, overall, remained the dominate late-night choice for viewers in every ratings measure. We couldn't agree more. Fallon , just when you think he may be slipping, always comes up with a funny and relative bit. Check out Fallon's "The Evolution of Dad Dancing" costarring Governor Chris Christie :

We're not sure if this is a face saving move for CBS and Lara Logan, who was forced to take a leave of absence from 60 Minutes after her flawed Benghazi report aired, or if CBS News doesn't care what veteran journalist think. How to deal with the trust issue now.  See THR report below. Related: '60 Minutes' Officially Airs Apology, Now What? Lupita Nyong'o Cast In 'Star War'

Image
Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o will join the cast of "Star Wars: Episode VII". We're not surprised. Nyong'o was a spot-on pick,  and she is sure to bring dimension to her role. We're exited for Nyong'o especially since she has avoided (so far) typecasting. Actress Gwendoline Christie , best known for her role in Game of Thrones , will also join the cast.
