Burberry Deconstructs the Past

In Brand Talk, Burberry was added to our list because of its fabrication quality and attention to detail. Impressed by the iconic tartan pattern, which is so subtle in some designs, it is possible to wear the luxury brand without screaming anything but quality.

Fast forward to Burberry's Autumn 2017 RTW collection, and as Tim Blank's review puts it, there is a "defiant direction at Burberry". Always a fan of asymmetrical, not so much deconstruction, there were a few pieces that provoked interest. We can only assume the quality of the fabrics is superb, but the overall collection if far from what TCC has become accustomed to seeing from Burberry.

Politics Becoming Popular Spectator Sport

Politics TCC started down this road with a post yesterday, Funny Response to Trump Tweetstorm , that was a GIFF poking fun at White House press secretary Sean Spicer's response to President Trump's cell phone usage to tweet. Politics seems to be a uniting force, both pro and against Trump, on social media and in everyday conversations with Americans commenting, "Did you hear..." "How about..."  "Can you believe...." Stephen Colbert , host of CBS ' "Late Night with Stephen Colbert",  has moved from 2nd place to 1st since the inauguration of Trump. Other late-night hosts are also experiencing a boost in ratings as it appears Americans are using these vehicles as either proof of political views (confirmation or conspiracy) or just as a coping mechanism.
